UW Gazette, September 17, 1997 It doesn't look good for mail service to continue through this fall without a strike against Canada Post by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers. Like other organizations, UW is getting ready to deal with the disruption if it happens - and so a memo is out from Carmen Jaray of central stores, advising that UW has an arrangement for getting mail in via the United States. In case of a mail stoppage, she says, mail from outside Canada to anyone at UW should be addressed like this: Mailfast Attn: [Your name, your department] YYZ-YYZ-700295 PO Box 9018 Jericho NY 11753-8918 Note carefully: the words "University of Waterloo" don't, and shouldn't, appear anywhere in that address. "This will ensure," says Jaray, "that your mail will get here in a reasonable amount of time without it being held by Canada Post in the event that they go on strike. Please make sure that your name and department is on the second line of the address so when we receive this mail we know where to send it."
